Needles blue agate is a gem silica chalcedony that comes from the Blue Danube Mine near Lake Havasu. Its blue coloring comes from the copper minerals, where the agate has filled in the cracks of its rhyolitic host stone.
This exceedingly rare parcel includes 19 pieces, all of which show translucency, and a total weight of 185.4g. All of the pieces were hand selected to produce finished goods, and nearly all have been tumbled. They are shown wet, except for the one photo.
The largest stone, the slab, measures 47 x 34 x 6 mm and weighs 12.4g. One stone weighs 20.4g, 7 pieces are between 12-17g, 2 pieces are 9.5g, 7 pieces are between 5.5-7g.
